The Stuff Christians Like book. Pre-order today!

Pre-order the Stuff Christians Like book from Amazon by clicking right here.

Why buy it? Great question.

7 reasons to buy the Stuff Christians Like book.

1. There are more than 120 posts inside, including more than 80 never before seen, brand new, never on the site ideas.

2. A really talented artist named Mark Sheeres illustrated it and the work he did is hilarious.

3. It’s only $10.39.

4. It only weighs 235 grams. (Not sure why Amazon lists the grams but if you prefer books in low the 200 gram range, you will love this one.)

5. I was afraid a publisher might make me water down the message, but Zondervan didn’t make me pull punches. Instead, the editor I worked with really amplified the humor and honesty of the whole thing.

6. It comes out in April. By then you will have forgotten you ordered it. One day, on a bright spring afternoon, you’ll walk to the mailbox and say, “Oh, what’s this?” And then you’ll do the robot.

7. If lots of people pre-order it, Zondervan will let me publish another book and get me a hybrid tour bus that runs on skittles and make us a collectible Stuff Christians Like belt buckle line.

OK, I made up that last one, but the list felt really incomplete with only 6 items.

To pre-order the book, click here.

And thank you for making this book possible. It doesn’t exist without you reading this site and I hope to continue showing my extreme gratefulness for that by continuing to write Stuff Christians Like.

  2. Done. Bring on April! Or... maybe May. Depends how long it takes to ship it to New Zealand.

  3. Or for all the Aussies out there, Koorong is already listing it on their website http://orders.koorong.com/search/details.jhtml?code=9780310319948

  4. My order is in. I'm looking forward to it. Also, you might want to suggest that we stock up on extra copies for gifts!

  5. Or for readers from Europe, Amazon UK ships within 2-3 working days (Amazon US would have taken 18-32 days to ship the book to Germany - I can't imagine having to wait for it that long while everyone else is already having fun!).

  7. let's try this again.

Will it be here in time for Easter?

Great question. My assumption is that yes, it will be out in time for Easter and will in fact make the perfect Easter gift. It will fit nicely in a basket on a bed of fake green grass riding shotgun with chocolate or if you hate the way we've commercialized Easter with bunnies and chocolate the book is holy enough to give as a gift. So win, win.

  11. (doing my touchdown dance)

Jon, you just made me do my touchdown dance. The cover is great.

  12. Jon, on Amazon you're
    #10 in Books > Entertainment > Humor > Religion

...on first glance that is impressive, but, actually, there are only 7 books in that category. Lanny Donoho is 5 of those 7 books.

  13. because i tend to notice EVERY detail...at the bottom is says that you're the creator of stuffchristianslike.net

    isn't it stufffchristianslike.net ?

    with 3 f's?

  14. nonetheless, i can't wait for the book to come out. i always mention the blog to people and never know if they actually went home and looked it up. now i can sit there and watch them as they read it. awkward? maybe, but at least they'll get it.

Good question, the URL that you can type in doesn't have the three fffs. It's www.stuffchristianslike.net

the blogspot address is the one with three f's

    Thanks

  19. Woohoo!!! I've ordered mine, so come April it'll be winging it's way to bonny Scotand! I now have 7 months to learn to do the robot!!

  20. Obviously, you couldn't leave it at six reasons, because six is the number of the devil, and seven is the number of perfection.

What an awesome Easter gift. I think your ideas about the fake grass and chocolate bunny make for a great marketing pitch. You should get Zondervan on that.

  21. love the cover!! it seems like a book that urban outfitters should sell, but i doubt they would since it's not raunchy.

  22. Done! How am I ever going to make it till May? :oD

  23. I'm definitely going to buy copies of your book but I'm going to buy them at my local Christian bookstore. These folks need and deserve our support. I hope that doesn't cause you to miss out on the hybrid tour bus that runs on skittles or the SCL belt buckle!

  24. How much are you influenced/ how much do you influence Stuff White People Like. Is it a coincidence that the book covers also look alike?

    ReplyDelete
  25. You are officially added to my pre-order list. I've only pre-ordered once before. It was Harry Potter. I hope you aren't offended by the company. You are both pretty magical though.

  29. Got it! Did you know it's the #2 book in Books > Entertainment > Humor > Religion according to amazon? Way to go!

AND I have until April to learn how to do the robot properly. Perfect.

  31. Never noticed the three "f's" before. Ha ha ha, that's all part of what makes you Jon/John.

  32. HOLY FLIPPIN COW (Christian curse words). Ranked #686 in ALL Amazon sales, and by the time I'm done writing this it will probably be ranked #500. No pressure, please don't puke. I can't wait to read the 'never seen before' treasures.

  33. Alright, I'm pre-ordering so that I can give a copy away ... but, I also told them to let the publisher know I want it on my Kindle!

whisper: Jon, I want this on my Kindle. :)

    Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It has been done! I've never pre-ordered a book before... WOW! I'm so looking forward to it and sharing it with my friends as well.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ordered it!! I have never pre-ordered before and I usually wait for a great deal, but I had to order. You're at #427 on Amazon books!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. You could have come up with an uglier cover. Possibly.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yay!!! I just put it on one of my Amazon.com wish lists.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am getting a copy for my brother for Christmas. He will roll the tree over laughing at these comments.

  39. THE PICTURE!

Is THAT what a side hug looks like??? I had always thought a side hug involved putting arms around shoulders (i.e., the guy's hand would be on the outside of the girl's arm, rather than *gasp* touching her torso).

Are there differing degrees of side hugs that I should know about? What do they mean? I mean, is there some reason why some of my friends might side hug me one way, while others the other way? Are they telling me something?

    Please Jon, do tell.

  40. I would totally do the robot if I found this book in my mailbox. And then I would ask, "What would teen wolf do?", sit down and drink a strong coffee and dive right on in.

Congratulations, Jon. I'm glad it all came together. Can't wait to read this book. Will the eBook version be available at the same time or earlier?

  41. I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that the "Customers who bought this also bought" feature has Seventeen Again with Zac Efron as the first item. Come one people!
