But since this site is all about love, or rather "like," I wanted to show some to two other tattoos that people really dug. That's why I am declaring Doves and Alpha & Omega runner ups. They will be receiving their own unique prizes soon.
I posted the top three designs below, including the other wrist of the Mercy owner. It says, grace.
Thanks everyone for voting. And a special thanks go out to everyone that submitted a tattoo. It was great to see folks willing to share their faith and their creativity in such a cool way. I might post the top 20 tattoos that the judges voted on in case anyone is curious at some point.
side hugs and leg drops,
Jon

Pretty sure that mercy always wins, in the long run. :)
ReplyDeleteI do like that one the best.
Yaaaayyy, Mercy!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHurray for Mercy!
ReplyDeleteAnd for all the great tats. I thought they were all pretty cool...
Congrats to Mercy.
ReplyDeleteStill working on the "Bears with hockey sticks" design for the next contest!
Congratulations to Mercy and SF Dove and Jesse even though I did not vote for him. ; )
ReplyDeletePLEASE show the top 20 Jon!!11!
yay congrats! and yes, please show the top 20. i am curious!
ReplyDeleteWay to go mercy! I'm the dove guy. I loved your story. My wife and spoke about it often. I can't wait for round two. I have many more on my body.
ReplyDeletePeace,
Pastor Steve
Very, very cool. Thanks for the super-creative idea, Jon! And make sure you tell us when we can buy a t-shirt because I am SO all over that!
ReplyDeleteOoo speaking of tshirts, if you're really going to make some, can I ask for lady-shaped tees? I love your site and I'm all about sharing the love, but I probably won't buy a square man-shaped tee. I'm little and they look ridiculous on me. Just a suggestion! Sorry to digress. Great tattoos!
ReplyDeleteMake sure you have 2X sizes available. I will need a couple.
ReplyDeleteTom
Yea for mercy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mercy! Very, VERY powerful story to go along with it. I had a friend who used to cut and it hit close to home for him as well. Awesome stuff.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have been a runner up, as well (I'm Alpha/Omega)!
Awesome contest, Jon. Maybe by the time Round 2 rolls around I'll have my half-sleeve done!
I found Mercy's message to be very powerful and a creative conversation starter. I applaud the owner's courage to not hide his scars.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Jon, please have SCL t-shirts available for sale at some point. I personally, would love to buy one - to support you and advertise this great site.
I am continually amazed at our creative God and how He has turned this simple website into a cyberspace community of believers. Yay God!
Yay! Thanks everyone for the all the votes! Some of your comments were incredibly moving. I was amazed by the response.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm a she not a he. :)
P.S.S. I'm the mercy/grace owner in case that wasn't evident!
I guess 'Mercy' winning would fit with the stuff Christians like overall theme. Kinda cute, kinda sentimental, but with a gutsy edge. I thought the contest was about the artwork. C'mon the dove rules. I mean, I'm glad everyone's so touched by the mercy message and all, but...its just not that great of a tat.
