Voting will remain open until Sunday, August 3rd at midnight. The tattoo with the highest number of votes will win. I included back story for the tattoos that were sent with some. If you own one of these tattoos and want to share your story, email me and I will add it. There will be one overall winner from all 13 tattoos. This is the finals, the one tattoo to rule them all. (horrible, horrible LOTR pun)
9. Stained Glass
This is a cover up of an awful tattoo I got in college. The original concept came from the St. Michael statue in Italy. Since I have always loved the way stained glass windows look, I found several with qualities that I liked and took them to Trevor Marx, my tattoo artist in Lakeland, FL. We looked at the different borders and colors, and skies that I liked from each window and he worked up what you see now. It wraps all the way around my arm but I'm just sending the main window pane on the front.
10. Woven Cross
11. Alpha & Omega
11. Alpha & Omega
This tattoo was four years in the making. I knew back then that I wanted something to really remind me of Christ's suffering and also his Saving blood at the same time. Here is some imagery: Crowns of thorns to remind me of Christ's suffering. Interior thorns are tipped in red (hard to see in the smallish image up there), again, indicating the suffering of Christ. Crowns are each made of three vines, as an example of the trinity: three individual strands making up one crown.- Alpha and Omega in reference to Jesus' words in Revelation 1:8 and Revelation 22:13.- The colors/shading in the letters: The black at the bottom is our sin as, well, sinful creatures. The red coming from the top is the blood of Christ covering that sin.
12. Lamb
13. Colorful heart
The Hebrew means Joshua, and also Jehovah is Salvation.

ReplyDeletelamb
ReplyDeleteI will vote for Alpha & Omega AFTER he gets in a fight and introduces his friends, Alpha & Omega.
ReplyDeleteI like the lamb but can not vote for him based on 2 reasons;
1. He never shared the story and I really want to know it so I am kinda holding a grudge. Pray for me.
2. He was the first one posted and we have to break the cycle people! We can not let all first posted enteries win!
Whew! I think I need some more coffee. All enteries are lovely. Bless your hearts! ; )
Stained glass. And the woven cross (if I can make two votes in one post, that is).

ReplyDeleteStained glass - it's beautiful. Maybe I need to get my own Jesus tattoo.
ReplyDeleteStained glass window!!! Winner - hands down!!
ReplyDeleteOK OK.. i'll give the lamb story. :) You don't have to hold a grudge anymore. haha
ReplyDeleteBasically, I am starting a grace/redemption sleeve on my arm and this is my latest piece. I have a dove on my elbow as well done by the same artist. I just felt like I would be nowhere without grace and what God has done for me. I don't have a very sad story save a few past addictions and failures but I would be lost completely without Jesus and redemption.. so yeah.
With that being said, I vote lamb. :)
the stained glass is mine. come check out my page some time

ReplyDeleteGosh there are prohibitions in the Old Testament regarding tattoos, marking & cutting. I guess it's because of the religious significance...therefore if you remove the spiritual aspect, does that then mean I have a green light?
ReplyDeleteWhat about prostitution? Paul condemned it because of its religious framework but what if I remove that. Do I now have the liberty to practice it to the glory of God? God Forbid!
Deuteronomy 12:29-32
Anti-tat guy say WHAT?/Hannah Montana voice.
ReplyDeleteAre you callin me a hooka? I am soo gonna side hug AND leg drop you when we meet in heaven. In fact, I am going pray and ask God to build my mansion right next to yours. Grace & Peace, Rick, daphne
I vote for the lamb tattoo! It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #11 - nice work!
ReplyDeleteAlpha and Omega, please!
ReplyDeletealpha and omega
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the lamb.
ReplyDelete1. It has great color.
2. I was going to vote for San Francisco, but I thought that the lamb was a better design because it doesn't run into the sleeve line. So really.. just a personal preference for the freestanding logo than the 'filled in body part' kind of design.
3. It rocks.
4. I was going to vote for the piper arrows.. but I think color is more hard core.
#11: Alpha/Omega
