Heaven wins! Heaven wins Bulletin Bored Contest!

Was it the dinosaur taxi service? The DC Talk reference? The Frisbee playing Jesus? Hard to say, but congrats go out to Curtis for his award-winning bulletin bored entry. I salute faces and last supper and run and the dove and Kenyan cross and everyone that sent in an entry. This whole thing was funnier and cooler than I imagined. Thanks for voting. Without you, Stuff Christians Like is about 99% "less good." There's a new contest coming this summer. In the meantime, Curtis, please tell your friends and family that you will soon be the proud owner of a "bag o' awesome."

  3. I thought this one deserved to win, due to its large amount of SCL-ness. I didn't vote, but I am pleased with the outcome. Congrats, Curtis!

  4. I think that because I voted for Heaven, really it's the voters that count.......quite literally....maybe my vote was the special winner to get a bag-o-awesome of my own?

Ah. I wish. I wish hard.

(I was too ambitious with my entry so I never submitted it. I went straight for the black pen and sideswiped the wise pencil who knows how to fix its mistakes. Black pens are my doom.)

  8. I can't believe it! I have so many people to thank...Well, first of all, I'd like to thank God for giving me such a weird imagination...it finally won me friends instead of the opposite...so many people to thank...everyone who voted for me, I couldn't have done it without you guys. This one's for you...my wife for supporting me and rolling her eyes when I can't see them...

...and Jon. None of this madness exists without you. Thank you for exploring the obscure, idiosyncratic, Christian subculture and taking us along for the ride.

Finally, this one goes out to all the unicorns and dinosaurs, wherever you are out there...we miss you. See you in heaven. Let's road trip it to Narnia together.

  10. Curtis was my intern for most of his collegiate years! I'm so proud of him, I just hope he hasn't 'peeked' too soon! This is going to be hard to beat!

  15. I didn't realize the contest was over (new to this fantastic blog) and was all set to vote for "Heaven"---It truly was hard because there were so many great ones.

Curtis, your drawing reminds me of a great cartoonist I loved all through my youth---Her name was something like Lynda Barry, and the highest praise I can give you, is that your drawing reminded me of her.
