Updated - Finalists - Bulletin Bored Contest

Contest is complete. Heaven won, hooray for heaven!

Update:
My bad. For some reason I thought we only set up voting for a single week. With everything going on, I completely missed that detail. In addition to forgetting, I don't want you to think I am dragging this contest out. So we can do 1 of 2 things. We can keep voting on all of them until the original cut off date which is this Saturday the 28th, or we can add the only one where the race was close. Road trip is awesome but the only close one was elephant or dove. So what if we added elephant to the finalists? Is that cool with everyone? I am open to whatever works best. Again, completely my mistake on the voting dates.

After hundreds of votes, the finalists have been selected. I tried to make it difficult by having two of the best in the same bracket, but a lot of folks raised a great point - Run and Faces both deserve to be in the finals. So I put them both in. I apologize if you are a bulletin bored purist and feel that I have sullied the honor of the competition by allowing them both in. I just felt like they are both great and agreed with everyone that suggested that they each make it to the finals.


Let's vote until Tuesday at midnight and then announce the winner on Wednesday.
Finalists include: Faces, Last Supper, Heaven, Dove, Kenyan Cross and Run.

    hmmm.... it's a toss up for me between "Heaven" and "Last Supper"... can I give one vote to each of them? What about half a vote? If it can only be one, then let it be "heaven", but only because they mention Narnia!

    Whoa... I've never had the privilege of leaving the first comment. Actually, this probably just means that Jon is getting his 3-4 hours of sleep right now and hasn't approved comments yet.

    I'm torn between Heaven and the Last Supper... but I'm going with Last Supper as my final answer. (I apologize for the lame "Millionaire" reference).

    Heaven is my vote and I'd like to share why:

    If you look at the drawing,the unicorn has wings. In real life I have never seen a unicorn with wings. Now everyone knows that when God created the horse with wings it was known as a pegasus. So essentially, whoever drew this wicked awesome bulletin morphed the two animals. Now we have a "Pegacorn". If that's in heaven, I'm going to stop being so judgemental so I can get in.

    I've got to go with heaven on this one. I love that Jesus is wearing jeans and playing frisbee, and I sincerely hope that the streets of gold in heaven are actually gilded moon-bounce stuff because honestly, wouldn't it be great to play ultimate frisbee on a moon-bounce?!

    Faces, for the sheer brazenness of it! It basically says, "Not only was I messing around during worship, but now I'm going to admit it to the ENTIRE pastoral staff by having them sign it. And, no I really don't care if it annoys any of them because I have doodling skillz most people merely dream of. This is my spiritual gift!"

    Stuff Jewish People like refers to this as chutzpah!

    I'm really torn between "heaven" and "the last supper", and I really want to go with God on this one...can we get a translation of the Korean on last supper? is it the same thing as the english, or some super secret additional commentary? Might help me figure out which one is SCL to the uttermost :)

    Another question about last supper-is the happy happy Jesus Lady on the far left eating pimiento cheese, by any chance? Cause if she is, that could do it for me. You know all us southerners love us some pimiento cheese. I assume its the same in South Korea...

    OK, I know I need to think a little longer before posting comments, but I'm packing to move and thinking is a little sludgy right now. Has anyone else noticed that the last supper takes place in a CAFETERIA, which everyone knows is something all Christians like? At least my parents did, they drug us to one every Sunday after church until we got old enough to lodge serious protests. I think this cafeteria thing deserves its own post, Jon.

    I have to go with "run" because the artist combined the essentials of what Christians like--the crock pot o' love, psalty, unibrow, an eagle. I would vote for last supper, but Smurfette seems out of place.

    After closely examining my favorites again, I think that I am going to have to go with Heaven. I too hope that there is a narnia section and a DC talk reunion tour in heaven. Playing Frisbee with Jesus sounds awesome and I would love being transported by Dinosaurs. So Heaven it is!

    clearly, the winner is heaven. the rest are nice too, but when it comes down to the most hilarious and creative... this person has one of the craziest minds-- and thanks for sharing the inside of it with us! :)

    First, these are all great. It was so hard to choose! And, I really want to know how someone got crayons into church? ;D

    It was a close call for me between "Heaven" and "The Last Supper," but I think I'm definitely going for . . . Heaven. I'd like to ride a dinosaur, and play frisbee with Jesus. I'll probably be able to actually throw a frisbee in Heaven!
